At the Regione Lombardia entrance
NATIVITAS 8.0
Aligned with the institutional entrance of Palazzo Lombardia, an imposing twelve-metre tree sculpture takes shape, where art, design and Christmas tradition meet. On a steel structure, panels of mirrored Dibond, in silver and gold, spiral upwards, multiplying into countless reflections the thousands of warm lights that bring out their forms.
A spectacular installation that becomes the symbol of NATIVITAS, a meeting point and an iconic place to capture in the heart of Milan: a tree that can be seen from every entrance to the square.

The design
Who designed it
The sculpture was designed by the Creative Factory of Andrea Battivello · Bottegaventisei (opens in a new tab), which also signs the NATIVITAS set design.
Andrea Battivello talks about it in the interview «Oltre il prodotto con Bottega Ventisei», in la Repubblica Milano on 8 October 2026 (the «Eccellenze della Lombardia» special), devoted to the debut of Nativitas: read the interview (opens in a new tab) (in Italian).
The path of light
The lights around the tree
The journey begins before the square. Along via Restelli, the Nativitas Journey leads visitors for 230 metres: luminous sculptures, trees of light, monumental candles and Christmas scenery turn the street into a world to discover, step by step, with 100% Made in Italy production and low-energy LED lights.
At the entrances, two 8 × 4.5-metre LEDwall portals, one in Piazzetta Galvani and the other on via Restelli, welcome visitors with starry skies and falling snow. Piazzetta Galvani also has an 8-metre tree, next to the carousel and the Christmas house.
The NATIVITAS lights go on on 26 November 2026, at the opening night; from 27 November the square is open to the public, until 10 January 2027. To get there: getting here; for a photo in front of the tree after skating, the ice rink is just a few steps away.
